A listserv has  been created for you to foster discussion on issues related to summer school.  Through it you may share your best thoughts and ideas about anything related to summer school.   The listserv also provides an opportunity for you to easily request feedback or pose questions to all subscribers.
Anyone may subscribe and, best of all, this service is FREE!

So Just What is a LISTSERV anyway?

A Listserv is a way of asking for, providing, and receiving information about a topic that is near and dear to the people who are subscribers.  The Summer School Listserv was established so that people who are interested in Summer School (for whatever reason) can connect to other like-minded folk. 

Once you have subscribed, you can send a message via e-mail to everyone who is subscribed with just one address.  Likewise, responses and reactions to your "posting" go out to everyone on the list.  Unlike a chat room which occurs in "real time" (i.e. postings and replies happen at the same time you are typing),  the listserv information is posted and can be accessed whenever you get around to it. 

Note:  you can also reply to an individual if you choose by replacing the listserv name (in the "To:" field) with that person's e-mail.  Sometimes you might not want to share your thoughts with the entire group.  you will receive detailed instructions when you subscribe.

Now that you have an idea of the possibilities of the Summer School Listserv - SUBSCRIBE! 
Here are two options:  send an e-mail to mchaps@mail.nysed.gov,  entering "subscribe Summer School" in the "Subject" field.  Sit back and await notification.  Generally, requests are honored within 48 hours.  If you do not receive a notice that you have been subscribed, try sending the e-mail again.
