  • 4/7/06 Call For NYS Certified Teachers: Grades 3-8 Standard Setting Recruitment Form. Complete this recruitment form if you are interested in participating in Standard Setting for the Grades 3-8 English Language Arts and Mathematics Tests. The standard setting process will be used to determine cut scores which students must meet or exceed to be classified in a given performance level. To set meaningful cut scores, the standard setting process considers the knowledge, skills, and abilities that are expected of students in each performance level. It is critical that the process include a wide range of diverse teachers from across New York State. Please refer to the recruitment form for more information regarding dates, locations and how to apply. (Honorarium will be paid and all travel expenses will be reimbursed for participants.)   PDF  HTML  WORD

  • 9/22/05 - Elementary School Math Achievement Improves in 2005, Middle School Results Mixed- The Department publicly released the statewide May 2005 4th and 8th grade mathematics test results at a press conference today at 10:30 AM.  The press release, a PowerPoint presentation on the grades 4 and 8 results, and district and building aggregate reports are available at the links below:

  • July 2005 Use of Superintendents' Conference Days - The Regents continued their discussion in July of a proposed amendment to section 175.5 of the Commissioner's Regulations that would permit districts to use up to two of four superintendents' conference days for training and rating of the new grades 3-8 tests.  Since the Regents June discussion, the proposed amendment has been revised to include a sunset provision in two years.  The Regents asked staff to inform the field of their intent to approve the proposed amendment in September.  The proposed amendment is available at the Regents website at http://www.regents.nysed.gov under materials for the July meeting.
