School Quality Review Planning and Implementation Grant
Please note that the 2009-10 Title I School Quality Review Planning and Implementation Grant is now posted at: http://www.emsc.nysed.gov/funding/currentapps.html
This grant is for newly identified Title I schools identified as Improvement schools in August 2009 to develop improvement plans; implement recommendations resulting from the SED SQR report; meet their progress goals; and thereby improve student performance.
Due Date: Must be postmarked by December 4 , 2009.
2009-10 School Quality Review Process
All newly identified Schools in Improvement - Year 1 need to complete a School Quality Review (SQR). These Basic SQR's are a district responsibility and the District Superintendent will oversee the process.
Schools newly identified as Schools in Improvement - Year 1 Focused or Comprehensive will also need to complete a School Quality Review. Comprehensive Educational Plan (CEP) Template for Upstate/Long Island Schools - 2009-10
This new Comprehensive Education Plan (CEP) includes changes made to conform to the new Differentiated Accountability regulations.
Schools already identified in 2008-09 or earlier do not need to use this template until they move to a new phase. For most schools that will be when they begin developing their 2010-11 CEP. All schools - both SRAP and Title I - that are already identified, must, however, submit their revised CEP for 2009-10 (using their earlier CEP version and being sure to include the required forms) by August 31, 2009.
ONLY schools newly identified as Improvement Year 1 in August 2009 must use this new template. These schools will participate in a School Quality Review (SQR) process and then complete and submit this CEP as directed. See page one of the template for directions on how to submit. Updated Academic Intervention Services (AIS) Descriptions Due July 1, 2008
Pursuant to NYCRR100.2(ee), districts must have their AIS descriptions revised and reapproved by their local Boards of Education by July 1, 2008. The web-based guidance documents at http://www.emsc.nysed.gov/part100/pages/topics.html are still applicable. If you have any additional questions regarding the development of this description, call the Office of School Improvement at 518-474-5923. The secretary answering the call will refer you to the liaison responsible for your area, who will be able to provide you with additional support. AIS descriptions do not have to be submitted to the State education Department, but are to be maintained at the district office, available upon request.
