Pandemic flu planning should be an
annex/appendix to the existing school emergency plan. There is no need
to start from scratch. Your key partner in pandemic flu planning is
your county department of health. Please reach out to them if you
haven't done so already. Thank you!
The New York State Disaster Preparedness
Commission is continuing its comprehensive planning for a potential
pandemic. Staff from the State Health and Education Departments and a
workgroup made up of county health officials collaborated in the
development of a Pandemic Flu Action Kit for Schools in New York
State. It is being printed by the NYS Association of County Health
Officials (NYSACHO) and will be mailed directly to all BOCES district
superintendents, superintendents of schools, nonpublic schools, charter
schools, AESHP members, school nurses, and more. To access the kit
