Notice to Teachers

Grade 7 Mathematics

Chinese Edition Only

Question 17 of the Chinese edition only of the Grade 7 Mathematics Test contains a labeling misprint in the answer choices. If the Department determines that it is necessary, an adjustment to scoring will be made by CTB/McGraw-Hill for students who used the Chinese edition, either exclusively or in conjunction with the English edition. Therefore, it is essential that the circle on the answer sheet denoting Chinese edition be darkened for each student using this edition, either exclusively or in conjunction with the English edition.

If students have not yet taken Book 1 of this test, proctors may advise students using the Chinese edition to correct the labeling directly in their test books by marking the answer choices as A, B, C, D.

At the conclusion of the make up period for this test, which runs through Friday, March 23, 2007, additional information concerning this matter will be posted on the Department’s web site at http://www.emsc.nysed.gov/osa/. 

Please photocopy this notice and give a copy of it to each teacher administering the Chinese edition of the test.
