Mathematics B Regents Examination

 Tuesday, August 16, 2005—8:30 a.m.

This notice pertains to the rating guide for the Mathematics B Regents Examination.

The 4-credit response for question 32 of the examination identifies the interval for
which 4 cos x ³ 2 as < x < .   The correct interval should be £ x £ .  Only students who identify the
correct interval and graph the equations correctly over the specified domain should be awarded 4 credits.

Please photocopy this notice and give a copy of it to each teacher scoring the August 2005 Mathematics B Regents Examination.
