      *Public school districts and nonpublic schools should select specific dates (three for Grade 4 and two for Grade 8) within the test administration windows specified above.

        **Schools that do not participate in block or semester programs will administer the performance test in January only.  Schools that have semester schedules may administer this performance test in May only to those of their students who study science exclusively in the spring semester.

        ***This datafolio test is also administered to secondary level students with severe disabilities during the same administration dates.

        ΔSchools selected by the United States Department of Education to participate in the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) Grades 4 and 8 ELA and Mathematics tests will be exempt from the New York State field test requirement for the NAEP-selected grade.

            OSeveral hundred New York State schools will be selected by the United States Department of Education to participate in a one-day NAEP test scheduled between these dates.  New York State English Language Arts Test administration and make-up dates will be excluded.
