Clarification on Writing Portion of Grade 4 ELA

Q: Does the response have to be set in school?

 

A: No. As long as the student writes about someone helping it is eligible for any score point. Also, as in previous years, we will accept helping a non-human character. Responses that fit these criteria should be evaluated on the quality of the writing as established in the rubric and training materials.
