The following pages constitute the January/June 2009 Combined-Date Administration Conversion Chart for the Regents Examination in English.

This conversion chart must be used in deriving the final scores only for students who took Session One of the January 2009 Regents Comprehensive Examination in English but were unable to take Session Two because of a weather-related school closing. A combined-date administration final score may not be assigned to any student who completed both sessions of the examination in January 2009 and earned a final score for that examination.

The raw scores earned by the student from an affected school on Session One of the January 2009 Regents Comprehensive Examination in English may be combined with the raw scores earned on the June 2009 Session Two to constitute one complete and official examination administration. The student’s final score for this special combined-date administration must be derived from this special conversion chart.

Combined-Date Administration Regents Comprehensive Examination in English—January/June 2009

Chart for Determining the Final Examination Score

This conversion chart must be used in deriving the final scores only for students who took Session One of the January 2009 Regents Comprehensive Examination in English but were unable to take Session Two because of a weather-related school closing.

The raw scores earned by the student from an affected school on Session One of the January 2009 Regents Comprehensive Examination in English may be combined with the raw scores earned on the June 2009 Session Two to constitute one complete and official examination administration. The student’s final score for this special combined-date administration must be derived from this special conversion chart.

Total Essay Score

To determine the student’s final examination score, locate the student’s total essay score across the top of the chart and the student’s total multiple-choice score down the side of the chart. The point where those two scores intersect is the student’s final examination score. For example, a student receiving a total essay score of 16 and a total multiple-choice score of 19 would receive a final examination score of 70.
