I'm doing now: I am applying to colleges for the fall
of 2002 while dancing in New York City at Dancespace and
Movement Research exploring teachers and choreographers. I
am also training in voice, and am taking a painting class. |

I'm doing now: Dancing! I am a junior Contemp. dance
major at NCSA. Studying, performing, choreographing -- The
program is very performance oriented, but we take comp.
every term of every year as well. I am planning to attend
ADF for the second summer in a row.
Comments:
I can't emphasize enough that my attending NYSSSA made
an enormous impact on my life. I always knew I wanted to
dance, but NYSSSA really channeled my focus and opened my
eyes to a possible career. |

What I'm doing now: I
am going into my senior year at the University @ Buffalo
as a BFA Dance Major with a concentration in Performance.
I am also a part of the dance company in residence at
School call the Zodiaque Dance Company.
Comments:
NYSSSA influenced me in ways so deep that I don't even
have the words for how it did. I know that I would not
feel that way I do right now about myself and the world of
dance if it weren't for the NYSSSA school of dance and
Carolyn Adams. |

What I'm doing now: I am a senior at Middlebury College majoring in
International Studies, focusing on Eastern Europe and Russian with a discipline in Russian Literature
and Culture. I am also an art history minor. I plan to study art history at the graduate level.
Comments: While dance is no longer a great part of my life, my
experience at NYSSSA and other involvement with the arts has lead me to want to pursue a career in the
arts industry.

What I'm doing now: Currently I am the reigning Ms Black World
N.Y.S. My reign ends in August. I am also a full time student
at Borough of Manhattan Community College. My major is small business
entreprenuership. I hope to open my own dance school in
Guyana, South America.

What I'm doing now:
After graduating from UArts I moved back to my native
NYC and have recently founded my own dance company,
Elojes Dance Theater. We built a small studio in a loft
space in Williamsburg Brooklyn where we create and
choeograph for our upcomming season.
Comments: NYSSSA helped me refine my craft. It gave
me the directive needed to succeed in a difficult
profession by providing a wealth of knowledge,
opportunities, & connections. Years later, many NYSSSA
friends reappear in the NYC dance scene. |

What I'm doing now: I married my
love in 2003. After giving birth to my first child in
2005 I took a break from dancing and teaching. I am
currently looking for a
permenant home for my dance program in Harlem.
Comments: The summer of 1997 was one of my most
memorable summers. NYSSSA gave me the opportunity that I
would not have had otherwise. Thank you for that
wonderful experience. |

Comments: My
