Comments
: NYSSSA helped me refine my craft. It gave me the directive needed to succeed in a difficult profession by providing a wealth of knowledge, opportunities, & connections. Years later, many NYSSSA friends reappear in the NYC dance scene.

What I'm doing now: I am currently a junior at Calvin College in Michigan. At school I run track and still dance alot. I plan to be a bilingual child/school pscyhologist, incorporating my dance knowledge into my psychology practice with the use of dance therapy.

Comments: My NYSSSA memories are some of my best. I not only learned so much about dance but about life and friendships as well. I still keep in touch with many NYSSSA friends, and have so many awesome memories

What I'm doing now: I am the dance teacher at Aberdeen High School in Harford County, MD, and will be creating the curriculum for the county. I also teach and choreograph in the Baltimore area.

Comments: Coming to NYSSSA was always my favorite time of the year. What I learned in that short month was enough to keep me going until the next summer! The performing opportunities were incredible, and the teachers were the best I've ever had.

What I'm doing now: I am a senior at Middlebury College majoring in International Studies, focusing on Eastern Europe and Russian with a discipline in Russian Literature and Culture. I am also an art history minor. I plan to study art history at the graduate level.

Comments: While dance is no longer a great part of my life, my experience at NYSSSA and other involvement with the arts has lead me to want to pursue a career in the arts industry.

Comments: This program was just another step to making me a more diverse dancer. The teachers were inspirational, and guided me in making critical college decisions.
