What I'm doing now: I am still doing the paintings, drawings, and now, some computer art, kind of a mixture of the three.

Comments: I liked the faculty quite a bit,
and I later met with my painting teacher in a more friendly non-school environment.

Comments: I saw Kareen Faul from St. Rose speak at NYSSSA. That was when I decided to go there and get my BFA and Art Ed. certification. I made up my mind to be an artist and teacher that summer.

What I'm doing now: I am currently living and working in New York City. I recently returned from Santiago, Chile, where I was teaching English. I will begin graduate school in ESL education this September.

Comments: NYSSSA was a great program and helped me grow as an artist. I enjoyed the classes, the opportunities to interact with other young artists, as well as with experienced artists. It was a wonderful environment that I still remember fondly.

What I'm doing now: laundry at my parents house :-) working at Tiffany & Co. as a hand engraver

Comments: It was wonderful to be treated as an adult with valid ideas at art. This is usually not the case in high schools. The opportunity to discuss art with teachers and other students was valuable.

Additional Comments:   NYSSSA was amazing.  We had an incredible amount of exposure   to consummate professionals.  I only wish I hadn't gone to SAB the summer of 1996...  As a doctor, I know I will be using the knowledge of body mechanics that I gained through ballet.
