Comments from Gail Atlas:

Students enjoy the variety of challenging tasks this activity provides them. It also gives them an opportunity to work on an a task that they feel comfortable doing or explore the unknown. The electronic portfolios, and web page design is a new exciting learning experience. Including CADD drawings and photographs of models enhances their presentations and provides instant feedback and satisfaction. Students enjoy being able to view and hopefully someday work on their projects from home.

This activity works well in the second quarter of the school year when group skills have developed. Cooperative learning adds to the success of the team experience as it allows students to learn in a positive, non-judgmental environment. The students become more aware of their interpersonal relating styles in a group situation. This translates into an increase in their ability to resolve and even avoid conflicts.
