The amount of time for each aspect of the learning experience:

Planning

The project does not take much planning time, perhaps an hour or so at most. One thing to be aware of is scheduling the library for student research.

Implementation (Based on a 42 minute period, 5 days a week)

  • One class period to motivate and explain the project.
  • One or two periods in the library depending on time available.
  • Three weeks for students to work on the projects on their own time.
  • One class period for presentation of the projects and student Self Assessment

Assessment

  • One or two class periods for student and teacher assessment.
  • Thirty minutes to an hour per class to tabulate the scores, depending upon your math skills.
