- Students are assessed on whether they have met the performance indicators selected. See Learning Context for the selected performance indicators and the assessments which apply.
- The plan for assessment is detailed in the Procedure section.
- Each lesson has a homework assignment consisting of reading and application of what has been studied. Completed rubrics with student homework can be found under Student Work. We also comment on the student work.
Lesson 1 - Write a journal entry discussing how you are hoping that your life will change as a result of the Agricultural and Industrial Revolution.
Lesson 2 - Create a factual based letter describing the rapid spread of industrialization throughout Europe.
Lesson 3 - Draft a Letter to the Editor of The Manchester Times, describing concerns about the developments in working conditions and industrialized cities.
Lesson 4 - Compose an editorial for The Times of London entitled" Unions are the Savior/the Enemy of the People. Choose a side and defend your position.
Lesson 5 - Organize a debate between a supporter of laissez-faire capitalism and either a socialist reformer or a Marxist reformer.
Lesson 6 - Author a critique entitled, "The Agricultural and Industrial Revolutions Come Alive."
- The Culminating Activity is an assessment and it too is detailed under Procedure. The rubrics for both the visual portion and the written fact sheet of this activity are shown below.
1. Prepare a Revolutionary Museum Project with a Fact Sheet.
2. Establish a database to serve as a Revolutionary Museum catalog.
