Periwinkle recently received funding from the Extended School Day /School Violence Prevention Grant in the 2007/2008 The first component for second grade student which is called " The Magic Words of Poetry". In this program students focus on choral speaking, creative movement and positive Social Skills. Each class learns a poem that requires them to speak with projection, articulation and expression. An emphasis is created on movement and pantomimes to coincide with events in the poem to develop kinesthetic awareness. |
