State Education Department staff developed a Mandated Services Aid Web-based System. The Mandated Services Aid Web-based System was necessary to improve internal controls and the efficiency of the claims process for nonpublic school mandated services reimbursement aid. Schools began entering claims into the online system for the 2006-07 school year.
The new system was designed to greatly enhance the application process as well as expedite the review process and the issuance of your school's mandated services aid payment. Schools are strongly encouraged to use the Mandated Services online system. The user guide for the online system is available below. The format for each mandate and the applicable time and effort standards in the MSA-1 and Schedule A/Worksheet for the applicable school year are being used as the source documents for the data entry screens.
The online system will be available to enter claim data for school year 2007-08 in late October, early November when testing information is available from the Office of Information Reporting Services. Please watch the web site for an announcement about online system training and the date that the system will be available for school entry of claim forms.
Paper forms will still be accepted and will be entered into the computer system by department staff. Schools that choose to use paper forms will need to send a completed MSA-1 form and the Schedule A/Worksheet
Status of the Mandated Services Aid Online System for School Year 2006-07 Claims
The new system is now live! Schools, other than pilot schools, have been entering their claims online since October 31, 2007.
The due date for submission of the claims has been extended to December 14, 2007.
User codes and passwords to access the system were mailed to school administrators or the MSA official who is authorized to sign the claim form. If you are a diocesan school, you may not have received a user code or password. Please consult with your diocesan contact regarding this matter.
