December 5, 2005 |
Dear Mr. Brookins:
Enclosed is the study of the First Supervisory District of Monroe County, prepared by The Nelson A. Rockefeller Institute of Government, The State University of New York.
In accordance with Education Law § 2201, I am calling for a public hearing to be conducted on December 19, 2005, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., at the Rush-Henrietta Senior High School, 1799 Lehigh Station Road, to present and to hear public comment on the study’s findings and recommendations in regard to the proposed reorganization of the First Supervisory District of Monroe County. Specifically,
“… that Genesee Valley and Wayne-Finger Lakes not be included in any major restructuring of BOCES entities in the greater Monroe County area.”
“… that the boundaries of Monroe One and Monroe Two-Orleans not be realigned, with one possible exception … The Victor School District, although located in Ontario County and part of Wayne-Finger Lakes, has expressed interest in being transferred to Monroe One…”
“… that the benefits to be gained through a merger – a more customer-driven approach to management and a stronger workforce development presence – can be achieved through other means without effecting a complex, lengthy, and difficult merger.”
The public hearing will be hosted by Regent Milton L. Cofield.

Sincerely, |
