How to schedule to
take the GED Tests
When planning to take the GED Tests the candidates must fill out the application
(Attachment A) and follow the instructions for submitting a GED application. If
eligible to take the tests, they will be scheduled for one of the examination
dates selected. If seats are not available at the first or second choice, the
candidates will be scheduled for the next available date at the location
selected. The GED Testing Office in Albany does not schedule test dates.
No Scheduling information can be obtained by calling the GED hotline.
Please contact your local test center for all
scheduling issues.
Instructions for submitting
GED applications:
-
Mail or bring the completed application and required attachments to the
local testing center. Do not send any
applications to the GED Testing Office in Albany.
-
When registering by mail, please choose two different test dates
and mail the application at least (8) weeks in advance of the desired test
dates.
-
Applications received by the GED Testing Office in Albany for any test center
will be returned to sender. This will significantly delay the scheduling of
testing dates.
How candidates will know when they are scheduled
When
applications are received and candidates are scheduled, they will be sent or
given an admission notice telling when and where they are scheduled to take the
GED Tests.
Make sure to keep the admission notice! All
candidates must bring it to the test!
If
candidates have mailed in their application and they do not receive an admission
notice two weeks prior to the first examination date that the candidate put on
their application, they should call the local scheduling site.
