Establishing a New GED Test Site
The following steps must be completed by an official representing the agency requesting the new GED Testing Center:
- The agency official completes
L-75-2: “Official GED Testing Center Compliance Checklist.”
(53KB) - The agency completes L-75:
“Request to Establish Official GED Testing Center.”
(19KB) - The agency official completes L-10: “Testing Center Staff Appointment”
(17KB) and
sends it along with L-75
(19KB) and
new examiner résumés to:
Note: If the agency wants to have an addendum site to
their main testing site, then
L-25: "Request for Transportation Addendum to Annual Contract"

17KB) must be completed and submitted to the GED Testing Office.

If the above material is approved:
- GED/Department staff will conduct a site visit to the agency
- State GED Administrator reviews all material including site visit report
- State GED Administrator sends approval letter to agency
- New Chief Examiner and Examiner(s) attend training provided by GED Testing Office in Albany
- State GED Administrator signs and sends L-75, “Request to Establish Official GED Testing Center”
(19KB) and L-10,“Testing
Center Staff Appointment ”
(17KB) to GEDTS in Washington - GEDTS approves material and executes contract with institution for the establishment and operation of a GED testing center. An approval letter is sent to the testing center with a copy to the GED Administrator
- For institutional sites, an annual non-refundable testing center fee of $150.00 is charged by the GEDTS and invoiced with the first order for rental of GED testing materials
- Institutional sites should contact GEDTS at(202) 939-9490 to arrange the payment of this annual fee
- To request authorization to transport the GED Tests to an addendum site,
please complete form L-25
