August 2005 GED Examiner Training
for
New and Experienced GED Test Administration Staff
The next training session for GED examiners will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2005, from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm* at the following three locations:
Albany,
Utica and Rochester.
*New staff must
attend the full day session; experienced examiners who are completing their
yearly retraining need attend only from 9:30 to 12:30. If you are traveling
with colleagues, please plan accordingly.
Only persons currently in the process of being appointed to the position of GED Chief Examiner, Alternate Examiner, proctor or clerk (or hold these positions already) at an official GED testing center may attend. Contact your nearest test center** to find out the requirements for these positions or look at page 11 in the GED Chief Examiners’ Manual on the NYSED website noted below.
Please be aware that teachers of ABE (Adult Basic Education) grade level 4.0 or higher, Pre-GED preparation or GED preparation classes are not eligible for any positions. Job Corps staff is not eligible to work in any capacity at any official GED testing site.
