Application for Funding
Due Date: January 19, 2007
Schools participating in the School
Quality Review Initiative (SQRI) are eligible to apply for a School
Quality Review Initiative Grant, as outlined below. This grant is for the
period October 1, 2006 to June 30, 2007 and will be made pending
submission and approval of an application and budget (FS-10).

Grant Award per School: $7,500
In preparation for an External Review visit, the school is involved in the Self-Review process. Following the External Review by the Visiting Team, the school continues in the Self Review process and implements selected changes as a result of the Team’s recommendations. These funds are intended to provide additional support for activities generated by the recommendations of the External Review Report.
This grant is intended to provide support to schools participating in the Self-Review process. Allowable expenditures with these funds include:
purchase of materials to guide self review professional development training;
travel/transportation to visit exemplary schools;
training rate for self review team planning meetings; (Based on NYC Department of Education rate for Teacher Trainee Per Session)
consultant’s service.
All funds, whether for Self-Review or External Review, must be committed by June 30, 2007. There is no carryover of funds. Funds cannot be used for equipment, personnel, overhead, or to purchase meals.
Schools participating in the SQRI Self-Review or External Review are required to complete an application describing how grant funds will be used. Schools involved in an External Review may also use funds to implement External Review recommendations until June 30, 2007.
