Title I School Improvement Grants
2004-2005

Notice to LEAs with Schools in Need of Improvement (SINI 1 and 2),
Corrective Action (CA 1), Planning for Restructuring and Restructuring (CA 2)

Outside of New York City

Based on review of available School Improvement funds, the State Education Department has determined that additional Title I School Improvement funds are available for the 2004-2005 school year.  All LEAs outside of New York City with Schools in Need of Improvement (SINI 1 and 2), Corrective Action (CA 1), Planning for Restructuring (CA 2), or Restructuring will be able to apply for an additional $10,000 per school of Title I School Improvement funds through a budget amendment (FS-10A) if the grant has already been approved or through a revision to the FS-10 if the School Improvement grant has not been approved.  The new amount will be:

A large number of LEAs have not as yet applied for the available School Improvement funds.  The upstate liaison in the Regional School Services office will be contacting superintendents of schools to offer whatever assistance is needed for those LEAs that have not applied to date.  The School Improvement application is available at www.emsc.nysed.gov/funding/currentapps/htm.
