The purpose of the New York State Magnet School Program is to fund any instructional or instructional support costs associated with:
the operation of a magnet school, or;
the implementation of an alternative approach to reduction of racial isolation, or;
the enhancement of the instructional program to improve student achievement in elementary and secondary schools of school districts having substantial concentrations of minority students.
School districts outside of New York City that are eligible to receive a New York State Magnet School Program allocation must complete the application form and an FS-10 budget. New York City school districts participating in District Comprehensive Education Planning (DCEP) may include information in the DCEP in lieu of completing the attached form and procedures as specified in this document.
