Some districts were notified
that a determination about Adequate Yearly Progress could not be made
for a school based on its participation in State assessments. In
these cases, schools will be required to conduct a self-assessment.
Additional guidance will be provided shortly to districts regarding
their district level accountability status and the self-assessment
process. In the meantime, questions regarding the
self-assessment provisions may be directed to Mr. Ira Schwartz in the
Administration, Accountability and Policy office at (718) 722-2796.
