Updated Information on the Language Assessment Battery-Revised (LAB-R)

Several weeks ago copies of the LAB-R were mailed to all public school superintendents and charter school administrators. Unfortunately, several pages were missing from five of the booklets. Consequently, these five booklets have been reprinted and will be mailed to your office during the week of September 22, 2003. The new booklets you receive will have the word "Updated" prominently displayed on the front cover. Upon receipt of these new booklets, please securely destroy the copies that were missing pages. Also included in your shipment of updated booklets is a supply of scoring grids and cut scores for determining student eligibility for bilingual or ESL services.

You may photocopy LAB-R materials for administration or training purposes only. If your district or charter school supply is insufficient and photocopying is not feasible, please use the following Internet address to order additional copies.

Processing requests for additional examination materials requested via the order form at the above Internet address will take at least two weeks, and possibly longer in the case of Large Type and Braille editions. Previously submitted requests for additional LAB-R materials will be filled after all of the updated booklets are distributed.
