| Development of an updated
New York State technology plan began in December 2001. Representative committees
consisting of administrators, teachers, higher education institutions, the State Education
Department and parents worked for several months to collaboratively identify guiding
principles and assumptions for current New York State technology needs. The resulting
document, the New York State Technology Framework, is intended to be a guidance
document for Statewide, district, and school technology planning, implementation and
evaluation. The Technology Framework is aligned with the Regents Strategic Plan and the
"Closing the Gap" strategy as well as with key policy expectations and
requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB). It is available at our web site at:
