Change of Reporting Dates for End of Year SES Summary Report and
Policy Statement Regarding the Use of Incentives in Supplemental
Educational Services Programs (SES): The Board of Regents
approved amendments to Section 120.4 of the Regulations of the
Commissioner relating to the provision of Supplemental Educational
Services (SES) under the No Child Left Behind Act. The new
regulations prohibit the use of financial rewards or incentives to
solicit enrollment, encourage parents to switch providers once
students are enrolled, or attempt to influence parents, students,
local education agencies (LEAs), LEA staff or school staff. The new
regulations require that the provision of equipment, including
computers, must be must be part of the SES provider’s approved
instructional program. The new regulations also change the reporting
and submission dates for the annual SES Summary Report. Providers
are now required to submit a final written report to the LEA by
September 30 of each year; LEAs must submit an SES Annual Summary
Report to the Department by October 31st. To view the complete text

Providers of NCLB Supplemental Educational Services:
Applications to become a New York State-approved
supplemental educational services provider are now being accepted.
Through March 2, 2007, prospective providers are invited to
submit an application and their response to a "Request for
Qualifications" to be reviewed by the Department. Additional

Supplemental Educational Services: Proposed
regulations related to supplemental educational services have been
filed with the Department of State for publication in the State
Register and are available for public comment at

Supplemental Educational Services Providers:
The next
application period to become an approved supplemental educational
services provider will begin November 14, 2005, when applicants will
be invited to submit their responses to a "Request for Qualifications".
After the RFQs have been reviewed by the Department, approved
applicants will be placed in the "Approved Supplemental Educational
Services Providers" catalog. For more information, go to
