Guidelines on home instruction of students of
compulsory school age, students beyond compulsory school age, and
full-time college study. In September
2004, the Board of Regents adopted amendments to the Rules of the Board of
Regents and Commissioner's Regulations relating to the requirements for
conferral of a college degree and home instruction of students who wish to
attend college on a full-time basis. The purpose of the guidelines is to
help colleges and universities and school administrators implement the
provisions effectively and to assist parents and students in understanding
and complying with the requirements. The amendments also include six
alternatives for students beyond compulsory school age who seek to
demonstrate acceptable preliminary education before they may be awarded a
