Course Overview [pdf], [MS Word] and [html] Course Outline [pdf], [MS Word] and [html] Students will: - understand the stages of child development from prenatal through adolescence - understand the issues and concerns of parents of children with special needs - investigate the ways infants communicate their needs and how these needs are identified and satisfied - interact with children in a variety of situations - apply principles of child development and psychology in choosing guidance and discipline techniques - recognize ways to evaluate each child's progress - examine ways to deal with problems such as stress, addiction, divorce, and death, and examine ways to deal with these problems to minimize the negative effect on children. |
