Gutenberg Published his Bible

On May 29, 1453, the Ottoman Emperor, Mehmet II, captured Constantinople thus bringing an end to the Eastern Roman or Byzantine Empire. As a result, the Ottomans established an empire that included most of the Balkans and Asia Minor that lasted until 1923. The conquest marked the end of the Byzantine Empire and the Roman tradition; it heralded the end of the Middle Ages. With a new Muslim power in the eastern Mediterranean, established Eurasian trade routes were disrupted, and ultimately, sparkied the European Age of Discovery.
