Programmatic
As a reminder, if you are considering program modifications that are contrary to
your original proposal activities please consult with your SED liaison. Your
liaison should be
kept up to date on your professional development activities as they happen.
If you are not sure who your contact is please view the Directory found at
http://www.emsc.nysed.gov/ciai/mst/MSPprogrdirect.htm. While you are
there review the Directory information for accuracy and let Eric Suhr know of
any edits needed.
At last falls MSP meeting we provided information regarding other entities that are working to increase mathematics and or science achievement in students in the Lead LEA's. Please pursue these opportunities to collaborate and leverage resources to support your project. Should you need specific contact information for the various networks or mathematics/science related initiatives within your districts please call upon your SED liaison.

Evaluation
Compass Consulting is completing this
month an overall MSP program report for us at the Education Department. The
report will help us see how effective the overall state program is functioning
and how we might be able to help the individual projects achieve their goals.
Resources
The US Department of Education (USDOE) are holding regional meetings for all
Mathematics Science Partnership Project Directors and key staff this spring.
You may have already received an email with the preliminary information:
USDOE Mathematics Science Partnership Regional Meetings
The sites and dates for the regional meetings have been set.
February 16-17, Orlando
March 13-14, Seattle
March 30-31, Boston
The intent is to bring project-level leadership together and provide them with:
a sense of participating in the national program (Mathematics and Science Partnerships),
an opportunity to network with leadership in other projects and national staff,
technical assistance support for their project interventions.
Attendees will be
responsible for their own travel and lodging.
This is not a required event but is an acceptable activity for funding through
your project.
There will probably be a small
registration to cover lunch cost and attendees will be on their own for
dinner.
As we get near the event dates a more detailed agenda will be provided.
