The New York State Technology Education Association (NYSTEA) will hold its 2008 Conference in Syracuse, New York returning to the award winning University Sheraton, site of the very successful 2006 conference. This location will bring you to the heart of the Syracuse University Campus and connect you to the SU College of Engineering and Computer Science, as well as with the College of Environmental Science and Forestry.
The New York State State Education Department and the New York State Technology Education Association are jointly sponsoring a two day Technology Education Summit on April 30 - May 1, 2008. The purpose of the Summit is to share ideas and to develop recommendations that will foster increased student achievement in Technology Education as defined by the New York State Learning Standards. As with each summit, the intent is to conclude with a set of recommended actions steps that can be mutually supported in the months ahead. The discussions will center on curriculum and instruction, assessments, and professional development. These workgroup topics have been part of the successful formula for the curriculum teams past summits: Science 2002/2003; Mathematics 2003; English Language Arts 2004; Social Studies 2005.
