Dear Colleagues,
Please allow this email to act as a reminder for our upcoming scheduled MSP quarterly conference call tomorrow, March 3, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. This quarterly conference call has been arranged in an effort to continue improving continuity of communication between individual projects and the NYSED during Year 2 of the implementation of the MSP program. The conference call serves as an opportunity to dialogue among project personnel and the Department, and to assist and provide guidance in the successful implementation of your program. Project leaders can also to provide feedback on the challenges and successes faced at a local level.
Each MSP project has been allocated ONLY ONE conference line. The Department encourages each project coordinator to include their higher education partner(s) and the evaluator in the conference call. However, this means you must conference-in your partners locally before connecting to the MSP conference call. For your convenience, the conference call schedule is provided below:

Year 1 (2007-2008)
Year 2 (2008-2009) - Pre/Post Testing Reporting
USDOE brought to our attention that many MSP Projects did not complete the required teacher pre and post testing measures for the Year 1 of the grant cycle. USDOE requires that 100% of all teachers involved in each MSP project must be pre and post tested and reported annually.

- The NYSED, as well as the USDOE, encourages MSP project coordinators to attempt to resolve issues, concerns, and/or questions at the local level. Should the local MSP project need State expertise and involvement, individual project coordinator's should contact their NYSED liaison for assistance. If additional field support is needed, as the Statewide MSP coordinator, I will actively assist in the matter. I will also serve as primary contact in corresponding with USDOE regarding any NYS MSP project's persistent issues and/or concerns.

June 1, 2009 - Year 3; FS20 (July 1, 2009-June 30, 2010): budget summary and narrative due
June 30, 2009 - Year 2; end of FY '09 (July 1, 2008-June 30, 2009) all expenditures
September 1, 2009 - Year 2; FS10F (final) must be submitted to the Department
