• Alliance for the Arts
  Alliance for the Arts is the leading organization that gathers, analyzes and publishes information about the arts in New York, promoting New York's cultural life and identifying the needs, contributions, and issues facing members of the artistic community.
• The Alliance of New York State Arts Organizations
  The Alliance of New York State Arts Organizations has a 30-year history as New York's service association for community based arts and cultural organizations. The Alliance provides leadership and vision, and delivers services, resources and tools that strengthen cultural organizations. The Alliance informs the field on statewide and national issues affecting the arts and assists local arts agencies in building community support.
• American Alliance for Theatre and Education
  AATA is an advocacy organization, fostering high standards for drama/theatre education and theatre arts. AATE connects educators, artists, researchers, scholars and administrators, and provides opportunities for members to learn from each other, exchange and diversify their practices, their audiences, and their perspectives.
• Americans for the Arts
  Americans for the Arts partners with arts organizations, government agencies, business leaders, individual philanthropists, educators, and funders throughout the country. We provide extensive arts industry research, and information and professional development opportunities for community arts leaders via specialized programs and services, including a content-rich website and an annual national convention. Through national visibility and local outreach, we strive to motivate and mobilize opinion leaders and decision-makers who can make the arts thrive in America.
• Arts Education Partnership
  Arts Education Partnership is a national coalition of arts, education, business, philanthropic and government organizations that demonstrates and promotes the essential role of the arts in the learning and development of every child and in the improvement of America's schools. The Partnership includes over 140 organizations that are national in scope and impact. It also includes state and local partnerships focused on influencing educational policies and practices to promote quality arts education.
• Association for Teaching Artists

• Centre for Creative Communities
  The Centre for Creative Communities believes that the arts and creativity are central to human development and essential elements in building sustainable communities. The arts and cultural expression serve multiple functions in educational, social and political settings by giving perspective to the nature of human experience. They help people to form and challenge values and to develop an awareness of their environment.
• Community Arts Network
  CAN’s Web site is an international resource focusing on the work of artists and their community partners – projects and programs that actively promote the arts as part of education, political life, health recovery, prisoner rehabilitation, environmental protection, community regeneration, electronic communication, and more. Here you will find a wealth of data, documentation and criticism about art that is doing important work: improving students’ test scores, reducing prison violence and recidivism, reaching across racial and class barriers, bringing generations together, preserving history and culture that will otherwise be lost.

  Gaining the Arts Advantage: Lessons from School Districts That Value Arts Education is a report that responds to questions posed by school and community leaders throughout the U.S. about public school districts that have made literacy and competence in the arts one of the fundamental purposes of schooling for all students, and is the first national study to examine the implementation of arts education throughout entire school districts. This report is an excellent companion piece to Champions of Change: The Impact of the Arts on Learning.
• Keep Arts In Schools
  This website provides a collection of opinion research to determine how best to frame arts education for advocates who want to keep arts education in public schools. KeepArtsInSchools.org features the work that has been executed to date on this project and seeks to arm advocates with the tools and resources they need to be more effective in their work and in their communications to keep arts education in public schools.
• The Kennedy Center Alliance for Arts Education Network
  KCAAEN is a coalition of statewide non-profit Alliances for Arts Education working in partnership with the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts to support policies, practices, programs, and partnerships that ensure the arts are an essential part of American K-12 education.
• National Art Education Association
  NAEA promotes art education through Professional Development, service, advancement of knowledge, and leadership. The NAEA website provides articles and links to information and the latest research in the arts education field.
• National Assembly of State Arts Agencies
  The National Assembly of State Arts Agencies (NASAA) is the membership organization that unites, represents and serves the nation's state and jurisdictional arts agencies. Each of the 56 states and jurisdictions has created an agency to support excellence in and access to the arts. NASAA's mission is to advance and promote a meaningful role for the arts in the lives of individuals, families and communities throughout the United States. We empower state arts agencies through strategic assistance that fosters leadership, enhances planning and decision making, and increases resources.
• National Dance Education Organization
  NDEO advances dance education centered in the arts. NDEO is the voice of representation for the field in legislatures, schools of dance, PreK-12 schools, and institutions of higher education throughout the country. NDEO has forged alliances with approximately 150 federal and state agencies and arts associations in support of dance arts education. The Journal of Dance Education (JODE), their official quarterly publication, is included with full membership.
• National PTA
  As the largest volunteer child advocacy association in the nation, National PTA reminds our country of its obligations to children and provides parents and families with a powerful voice to speak on behalf of every child while providing the best tools for parents to help their children be successful students. National PTA does not act alone. Working in cooperation with many national education, health, safety, and child advocacy groups and federal agencies, National PTA collaborates on projects that benefit children and that bring valuable resources to its members.

  The New York State PTA works to develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education. The Purposes of the National PTA, the New York State PTA, and the local PTA are promoted through an educational program directed toward parents, teachers, and the general public; are developed through conferences, committees, projects, and programs; and are governed and qualified by the basic policies.
• The New York State School Boards Association
  NYSSBA provides a voice to school board members across the state working to improve the quality of primary and secondary education. The association offers advocacy services, information, advice, and a network for communication between school board members, the community, and other educational organizations.
• New York State School Music Association
  Membership in NYSSMA/MENC signifies your commitment to the profession, to excellence in music education, and to your own professional growth. It represents your active participation in the most significant professional force in music education in the State of New York. NYSSMA is the largest and most successful MENC state unit in the country.
• New York State Alliance for Arts Education
  Advocacy is at the core of the NYSAAE mission. NYSAAE has developed tools to support local, regional, and statewide advocacy for arts education. Whether at a community meeting or at the state legislature, advocates can use the NYSAAE toolkits, position papers, research summaries and other resources to make the case for supportive policies. In addition, NYSAAE provides advocacy alerts and e-newsletter to inform constituents on funding, policy issues and important changes in the state and national arenas.

  The New York State Art Teachers, NYSATA, is a non-profit professional organization founded in 1948 for the purpose of advancing the cause of art education. Members of NYSATA include representatives from pre-school through university level art educators, art administrators, museum educators, school administrators, school districts, commercial representatives, and friends and benefactors.
• Partners in Arts Education
  PAE provides funding and support for arts in education throughout NYS in the form of the Technical Assistance Program grants for professional development and training and School Arts Partnership Grants.
• Support Music
  Support Music advocates that music and the arts are vital to every child's education. This site offers effective tips for taking action and the latest evidence of music's importance, as well as a free advocacy tool kit from the American Music Conference. The organization is supported by a large coalition of arts and music education organizations committed to reviving schools’ and communities’ commitment to music and the arts.
• VSA Arts
  VSA arts implements various inclusive programs and resources designed to integrate the creative arts into educational and community programs for persons with and without disabilities. VSA arts also administers numerous awards and events that recognize the artistic achievements of young artists with disabilities, as well as the leadership of cultural institutions and educators for excellence in inclusive arts programming. VSA arts programs are implemented through a network of local, state, national and international VSA arts organizations and affiliates, in collaboration or partnership with educational and cultural institutions, arts agencies, associations for people with disabilities, and health and rehabilitation organizations.
• NYSED Virtual Learning System (VLS)
  The purpose of the New York State Education Department's Virtual Learning System is to encourage the use of the Internet as a tool for teaching and learning and to assist classroom teachers in locating Internet resources for instruction. VLS offers the full text of New York State's learning standards with their key ideas and performance indicators, as well as alternate performance indicators for students with severe disabilities. It provides resources that classroom teachers can use to support preK-12 standards-based instruction, such as sample tasks, learning experiences and lesson plans. Other teaching resources from the State Library, Public Broadcasting Services, Archive and Gateway to Educational Materials (GEM) are also available.
