Action

• Approval of the Department’s direction for review of the Regents academic intervention services policy.

• Approval of the proposed amendments to Section 19.5 of the Rules of the Board of Regents and Sections 200.1, 200.4, 200.7 and 200.22 of the Commissioner’s Regulations relating to behavioral interventions, including the use of aversive behavioral interventions.

• Approval of the petition of the Elmira City School District to exceed the constitutional debt limit.

• Approval of the renewal charters for the Bronx Charter School for the Arts, New York City; Global Concepts Charter School, Lackawanna; Harriet Tubman Charter School, New York City; and Southside Academy Charter School, Syracuse.

• Approval of the revision to the charter of the Niagara Charter School, Niagara Falls.

• Approval of recommendations for the reauthorization of the No Child Left Behind Act.

Discussion

• Report on strategies to improve the performance of limited English proficient/English language learners.

• Report on public comment on the revised Regents Parent and Family Partnerships Policy Statement.
