State Education Department issues introductory ELA brochure on Grades 3-8 testing with a test sampler. (Update: SED posted Introduction to the Grades3-8 Testing Program in English Language Arts and Mathematics.) (2/05) A statewide mailing, of a hard copy and CD version, is underway to every public and non-public school building and BOCES. (3/05)
December 2004 – April 2005
Regional Forums on Grade 3-8 Testing Program and the English Language Arts and Mathematics Grade-by-Grade Curricula.
As part of our coordinated communication strategy to inform educators and the public of our plans related to the Grade 3-8 Testing Program and the English Language Arts and Mathematics Grade-by-Grade Curricula, we are holding a series of regional forums that will be held from December 2004 through April 2005. The following links will take you to the agenda, dates and locations for the forums. This link will be updated as locations for the forums are identified.
January 2005
New York State Learning Standards for Mathematics presented to the Board of Regents for Action. (Update: Board of Regents adopted the Mathematics Learning Standard 3 and Performance Indicators for Grades PreKindergarten through 8 (1/05)
State Education Department issues a mathematics supplement for the introductory brochure on Grades 3-8 testing with a test sampler. (Update: SED will post Mathematics Sample Items-Appendix B for the Introduction to the Grades 3-8 Testing Program in English Language Arts and Mathematics) (3/05) At the end of March, a statewide mailing of Appendix B and CD version, will be sent to every public and non-public school building and BOCES.
