Update on Grades 3-8 English Language Arts Field Testing
 

Field testing for the Grades 3-8 English Language Arts Tests will be conducted from January 23 through January 27, 2006. If your school was designated for field testing in January 2006 and you have confirmed your participation, you will soon be receiving field test materials. This memo provides information your school will need to schedule the appropriate blocks of time for students to complete the field tests. Depending on the grade being tested, the time needed for field testing may be longer than in previous years.

Schools administering field tests at Grades 3, 5 and/or 7 will receive either Book A or Book B.  Both Book A and Book B have two parts.  Each part of each book must be administered on a separate day.

Schools administering Grades 4, 6 and/or 8 will receive either Book A, Book B, or Book C.  Each book has two parts.  Each part of each book must be administered on a separate day.

Schools will not know which Book they are to administer until they receive the field test materials.  Please note that the tests are administered over a two-day period.

The chart below contains information regarding the amount of time needed to administer the field tests.
