The Office of Elementary, Middle, Secondary and Continuing Education (EMSC)
website is updated frequently and offers direct links to its office, the Board
of Regents meetings, and the School Report Card site. It provides recent and
archived communications to the field regarding SED policy and presentations by
the Deputy Commissioner, with links to curriculum and general education
resources, No Child Left Behind (NCLB) legislation, funding opportunities,
updated News & Notes, the School Executive’s Bulletin, and other related
items.
Curriculum, Instruction and Instructional Technology (CI&IT) www.emsc.nysed.gov/ciai The CI&IT website provides quick access to each of New York State’s seven learning standard areas, core curricula, resource guides, publications, the CI&IT E-Blast news and updates broadcast, and links to related resources.

The Part 100 website provides current information about general education and
graduation requirements for elementary, middle, and secondary education. Links
to regulatory language, Q&A regarding policy, program offices and contacts,
resource materials, and a “hot topics” briefing are included.
State Assessment (OSA) http://www.emsc.nysed.gov/osa The Office of State Assessment website includes links to specific content areas, schedules for upcoming State assessments, previously administered State tests, test samplers, and communications to the field regarding test administration.
NYSED Virtual Learning
System (VLS)

The NYSED VLS presents the definitive set of New York State's learning
standards, including the full text of the 28 standards and their respective key
ideas and performance indicators, as well as the alternate performance
indicators for students with severe disabilities. VLS offers lesson plans and
tasks to support PreK-12 standards-based instruction, such as sample tasks and
learning experiences. Other teaching resources from the State Library, Public
Broadcasting Services, Archives, and Gateway to Educational Materials (GEM) are
also available.
“Call for Expertise”

The New York State Education Department has issued a “Call for Expertise” to
solicit teacher/educator interest in ongoing, State-level consulting work in the
areas of curriculum, assessment, and instructional technology. Upon completing
the online survey, names are registered in a database, which SED staff will use
to establish committees.
